Talumpati Para Sa Yumaong Na Minamahal

Continue reading

Philippines:3rd Most Dangerous Country For Journalists

Journalist Killing
Journalism seems to be a very hard and dangerous job especially in a place where journalist killing is an ordinary scenario. This sad reality poses one question: When will this killing stop?

Many unsolved cases of local journalists being murdered over the past have kept the Philippines in third place among the countries listed as the most dangerous in the world for journalists. According to infoplease.com, Iraq is the most dangerous country with 166 journalist deaths followed by Syria with 79.

“An empty stomach knows no law”. This may be the shield for every looting incident that happens whenever there is a calamity. A justification that may be used by people affected by Super Typhoon Yolanda that devastated Tacloban City and other areas last November 8.

“Back off”, Hindi ‘yan totoo.”, “Liar!”

Freedom of Information: Now or Never?

Freedom of Information

(I made this article for The Davao Wave in the year 2013 so some information might be outdated.)

With the negative issues and controversies that befell our government these past few months, every Filipino, rich or poor, young or old, deserves the right to know the truth of the matters.

A Journal

DAY 1 (February 9,2015)
Today, I met my subject for the very first time. I saw him sitting on the benches at the basketball court. I approached him and introduced myself. At first, he was very shy and kind of hesitated. But in the end, he gave his name. My new friend was Mr. Reymon Dave G. Pantorilla. After we exchanged names, I bid him farewell.

My Life In Fourth Year

My Life in Fourth Year

This is it, my last  year in the school in which I’ve spent four years of my life: Davao City National High School.  I’ve experienced a lot of things this school year and I can truly say that it was a year that was well spent.

At the start of the school year, I said to myself “I’m gonna make this year count”. And I did. Because of the promise that I made to myself, I excelled and studied harder which resulted to better habits and grades.
